Craig's Pledge

Protecting the safety and well-being of the people of El Dorado County has been my first responsibility for 27 years.

As El Dorado County Sheriff, I pledge to:

  • work closely with local communities to ensure that necessary budget cuts do not compromise public safety or the safety of law enforcement officers.
  • ensure that the rights of all persons are respected and protected.
  • increase the training and utilization of dedicated public safety volunteers including STAR, Citizen’s Academy, Reserves and Search and Rescue.
  • employ "community policing" principles to identify problems unique to each community and create action-plans to solve these problems.
  • create education campaign to target preventable risk behavior in our youth, such as alcohol use and prescription medicine abuse.
  • maintain strong and responsive Sheriff’s Office to keep our communities and schools safe and create an environment in which businesses and the local economy can thrive.
